Abdoulaye Conde
Kora Concert
An Afternoon of Music, Storytelling & Cultural Legacy
Abdoulaye Conde is a remarkable visual artist, muralist, musician, and mentor, born in Macenta, Guinea.
In addition to his visual art, Abdoulaye is an accomplished and respected musician, hailing from a family of griots - traditional storytellers and musicians. He plays the kora and guitar, and has performed at many cultural and diplomatic events across Conakry.
His musical and artistic pursuits are closely intertwined, and he uses both mediums to tell stories of resilience - particularly celebrating the strength and grace of the women who helped raise him.
Through his art, music, and mentorship, Abdoulaye Conde continues to inspire, uplift, and connect people from diverse backgrounds, leaving a lasting impact on the cultural landscape of Guinea and beyond.
He will be performing an approximately one-hour set on the kora, a 21-stringed African instrument that plays an essential role in oral tradition.
