Reginald “Reggio” McLaughlin

Reginald “Reggio” McLaughlin is living tap history. He will share with us his own story and how it connects to many masters from the past. He has been honored by the National Endowment for the Arts as an NEA National Heritage Fellow, earned the Flo-Bert Award for achievements in tap dancing, and shared the stage with countless giants of Tap.

  • McLaughlin will lead us through a portion of his impressive “Tap Dance Historical Archive,” painting a visual story of tap dancing’s legacy.
  • He will present this uniquely American art form through videos, stories, and performance.
  • After a presentation of his spectacular archive, McLaughlin will perform a special read through of his upcoming one-man show.

The World Music Foundation is proud to host McLaughlin, his Tap Dance Historical Archives, and to share his extensive knowledge.

Thank you to the Illinois Humanities Council for making this event possible through their support.
